Four reasons why I choose Photoshop over Fireworks for web design
Why four? Because I don’t have time for five.
- Fireworks takes a very, very long time to save and open multi-page files. I spend easily 10 percent of my time waiting for the program to finish saving. And with Fireworks’s instability, I have to save a lot.
- Fireworks is still buggy and has a long way to go before its features are as robust and refined as Photoshop.
- Sharing artwork between Illustrator and Photoshop is seamless with Smart Objects. Firefox tries too hard (and awkwardly at best) to do the job of both.
- What on earth is with the extended PNG format?
