Four reasons why I choose Photoshop over Fireworks for web design

Why four? Because I don’t have time for five.

  1. Fireworks takes a very, very long time to save and open multi-page files. I spend easily 10 percent of my time waiting for the program to finish saving. And with Fireworks’s instability, I have to save a lot.
  2. Fireworks is still buggy and has a long way to go before its features are as robust and refined as Photoshop.
  3. Sharing artwork between Illustrator and Photoshop is seamless with Smart Objects. Firefox tries too hard (and awkwardly at best) to do the job of both.
  4. What on earth is with the extended PNG format?
